  • I don’t mean to sound like a fanboy, but I don’t think anyone else could do it. The reason Larian was able to accomplish what they did was because that’s literally what they do. It’s the only type of game they make and they are very good at what they do. The fact that the “Senior Vice President of Digital Strategy and Licensing” is the one talking about is a huge red flag to me. They might be just chasing the fame and money, but I hope I am proven wrong in the end. I love the genre and would love to see more of this kind of game and I do hope they pull it off in the end. I’ll stay optimistic, for now at least.

If they do go down this road, I think they need to find another smaller company to do it. I can’t imagine one of the giants in the game industry doing the IP any justice.

  • I’m a younger millennial but I know how to do that. Culturally I relate way more with gen z than I do millennials, but man do I feel immense pain when I have to explain to people younger than me how to use technology. I had to explain to one of my younger coworkers how to navigate between folders and different hard drives within Windows the other day and it was more difficult than teaching my mom how to use a smart phone when they first came out. Too young to have had a MySpace but old enough to be everyone’s personal IT guy.

As a dude, absolutely. Men are the most emotional people I have ever met. The only reason men think that women are more emotional is because they misinterpret emotional intelligence with being emotional. Y’all have had this figured out for centuries while the men have been bumbling idiots that’ll start a war just to avoid being feeling inadequate or sad for a few days.

  • I’m more worried about the double edged sword that creates. Sure, you have more people protecting the protests, but then they could see that as an escalation which means more cops or ICE and potentially more bad actors. Now you’re gonna need more protection and next thing you know you are in an arms race with ICE with an ever increasing risk of shit going down. It’s definitely a tricky situation, but based on some of the videos I saw of agitators during these protests, they were looking for a fight. And whether it was a gun or a car, some of them did start a fight.

  • But at the same time if they didn’t have trigger happy cops to deal with and “counter protesters” with guns they wouldn’t need to protect themselves so aggressively. I get where you are coming from and I agree that people need to defend themselves, but if we go down this route the most likely result will just be more violence. I’m not ready to let significantly more people die just because I’m pissed off. I understand that things are bad but they can be so much worse.

On a side note, even though I disagree with you this reminded me of the episode of South Park where everyone in town gets a gun and it finally gets everyone to speak their minds about everything. And then someone, I can’t remember who, says something along the lines of “wow, guns really are amazing” as they all finally get along while they all point guns at each other. Off topic as all hell, but it made me laugh.
