“Chicago is the place quarterbacks go to die,” Carl Williams, Caleb’s father, told Seth Wickersham, author of “American Kings: A Biography of the Quarterback,” in the months before the 2024 draft.

Bears fans should be happy. Dude knew Waldron was a bum. Guy is ready and excited to learn from a good coach now.

*According to the author of this book.

But it’s a non-story anyway. Old news to begin with, and if any of this is true it just means he was exploring his options which any top prospect would and should do.

Even if all the claims are true, would you blame him or his father, even if you’re a bears fan? I know I wouldn’t. It was clearly a bad situation and they were proven right with the firings midseason.

On top of that, reportedly he changed his mind after this but still before the draft.
